is Vedic Astrology? |

Vedic
astrology is the traditional system of astrology of India that
is at least 4000 years old. It is also known as Jyotish, Indian
astrology, Eastern astrology, or Hindu astrology. It has recently
gained popularity in the West because of its accuracy in predicting
events and major trends in our lives. Vedic astrology is an
excellent tool for helping us understand our dharma
or life purpose as well as for giving us specific timetables
for making decisions about career, finances, relationship, health,
spiritual growth, etc. It is based on the sidereal zodiac which
calculates the positions of the planets according to observable
astronomy.

Description:
Arishta yogas are planetary combinations of misfortune, and
their presence or absence are key indicators for one's overall
health. They also become activated during the dashas of planets
forming these yogas, which is a primary method for predicting
the timing of illness. In this class you will learn how to identify
and assess the strength of arishta yogas to cause illness, as
well as learn factors of cancellation (arishta bhangas), and
how to pin point timing. We will do this by analyzing the charts
of celebrities like Farrah Fawcett, Robin Williams, Johnny Carson
and others, as well as ordinary people dealing with a variety
of illnesses. We'll also contrast these with charts of healthy
people. This class is a power point presentation (over 60 slides
and 20 example charts). Applicable towards ACVA certification
credit.

Vaughn Paul Manley |
Vaughn Paul Manley, M.A. is a full time Vedic astrologer
who has been practicing professionally since 1992. He has a
master's degree in counseling psychology and an elementary school
teaching credential. He is a certified teacher and tutor with
the American
College of Vedic Astrology (ACVA), and is a contributing
author for the ACVA Online Course. He was a faculty member at
ACVA's recent Ayurvedic
Astrology Healing Retreat in Kauai, Hawaii May 24-31, 2009.
His articles have been published in The Mountain Astrologer,
Journal of Astrology, Express Star Teller, CVA Journal,
Zento Magazine, and Maui Vision Magazine. Many
of his articles and lessons have been translated into Japanese
and he has taught six weekend seminars
