Case Study - Venus William's Big Comeback
Namaste Friends,
I hope you're all doing well and enjoying your summer days. This newsletter has been fun to put together. We live in very exciting times and you'll find a lot of interesting information here if you can take the time to check it out.

I've ventured into some new territory by creating my first case study that I think you'll find fascinating. Last week Venus Williams won the Wimbledon tennis championship which was a huge surprise after a slump of 2 years. It's not a surprise if you study her chart. Venus is back, find out why.

Latest Interview with Sri K.N. Rao
Here's a recent interview with Sri K.N. Rao by Maalok that was posted on www.sulekha.com on May 30th. This is a fantastic interview and has many stories and insights that I've never seen. It's long but well worth the read. Here's a short section. To read the entire article click below.

Question: Your mother and Yogi Bhaskarandji were your astrological Gurus. Can you give us a glimpse into your interaction with them and the learning you derived? Also, can you share some details of their lives?

KNR: Their method of teaching astrology was the classical ancient Hindu method. As they analyzed a horoscope, I was never allowed to keep the horoscope in front of me. I had to see it once and have a clear visual memory of it. Further when the analysis proceeded, I was trained to dynamically visualize the various planets, their aspects, positions etc. In fact as the training progressed, the verbal analysis would unfold itself as a visual dance-drama inside of me. Further I was required to do many of the intricate calculations mentally. I can unequivocally say that this method of training, more than any skill per se, has helped me immensely in practicing astrology. Based on this method of instruction, I later wrote the book, "Learn Hindu Astrology Easily", in which I evolved a mnemonic memory tablet PACDARES. This is an eight-step analysis scheme that I recommend for every astrologer to follow before they get into the arena of making predictions.

Mar's Unusual Transit Through Aries
On July 17th Mars transits into the sign of Aries where it will stay for an unusually long time until February 5th 2006. Mars transits are usually 45 days through a sign but not this time. Mars gets nearly 7 months to reside in it's own house of Aries and will likely fuel us to be very active and dynamic. This is cardinal fire where Mars can be the most expressive and ambitious. It can also be aggressive and many have predicted that this transit could heat up international tensions especially because Mars is mutually aspecting Saturn in Cancer - a very frustrated aspect by mutual enemies. On the constructive side it can be a good time for accomplishments as both Mars and Saturn are productive planets.

Sun Gazing - Living on Solar Energy
There have been many documented cases of people who have been able to live without food. Paramhansa Yogananda writes about two cases in his Autobiography of a Yogi. This is nothing new especially on the subcontinent of India, the land of yogis.

However, I've never heard of anyone explaining to a Western audience how it can actually be learned, until this last week. A friend of mine told me about how Hira Ratan Manek (a.k.a. HRM) had given a talk on Sun gazing at the end of June in San Diego. My friend said that his scientific arguments regarding the benefits of Sun gazing were very convincing. HRM claims to have lived only on water and sunlight for 10 years and looks quite healthy my friend said.

While I was staying in New Delhi in 2000 I heard of a young 33 year old yogi who had not eaten for over three years and who was walking barefoot across India. His name is Sunyogi Umasankar and he also derives his nourishment only from the Sun. Both he and HRM are teaching Sun gazing to thousands of people throughout the world now in hopes that this will help make a difference in cultivating World Peace.
