Hurrican Katrina Relief
Namaste Friends,
It hasn't been easy to hear of all the suffering that thousands have endured this past week as a result of hurricane Katrina. Here are a few stories that show a brighter side of how people have responded in a time of crisis:

HEARTS AS BIG AS TEXAS
Elementary school students in Brownsville, Texas, have been breaking into their piggy banks to give to relief agencies and help hurricane victims.

On Friday, second-grader Mathew Rosas pulled out a batch of quarters and nickels from his pocket and stretched to place the coins on the front desk at Sharp Elementary.

"Can I donate money right now? That's all I have," he asked as he stood there.

Second-grader Mathew Arteaga Francis asked his mother if he could donate his 'Bob the Builder' piggy bank, which he's been filling for at least two years. He said, "I want to be a doctor and help people."

The collection at the school totaled more than $700 Friday.

QUILTS HELP WITH RECOVERY
When two brothers from Beeville, Texas, heard of the children from the devastated Gulf Coast who had nothing, they decided to donate more than 20 colorful quilts from their childhood.

The quilts were made for Eric, 14, and Michael Taylor, 18, since they were infants. But when they thought of the children, they said, "Take them," according to a story for Saturday's editions of the Victoria Advocate.

The quilts will be added to two truckloads of items donated to hurricane evacuees that will arrive Saturday at Katy Christian Ministries in Katy, where more than 400 evacuees are being sheltered.

Jupiter enters Libra Sept 28th
On Sept 28th Jupiter enter Libra where it will stay for 13 months until October 28th 2006. Since May 27th Jupiter has been aspected by Saturn in Cancer and Ketu in Virgo, which generally diminishes the beneficial influence that Jupiter can give.

In Libra, Jupiter will be able to throw a positive aspect onto Mars, who is in Aries until Feb 6, 2006. (see July newsletter's article "Mars unusual transit through Aries). This should soften the blows of Mars who is in the nasty mutual aspect with Saturn.

With Jupiter's transit into Libra, the double transit of Jupiter and Saturn (the sign that receives the aspect of both Jup and Sat) will move into Aries unitl October 2006.

You will notice that whatever house that Aries represents in a person's chart will become emphasized until October 28th 2006. I have one client, for instance, that is expecting a baby by the end of the next month. She is Sagittarius rising and Aries is her 5th house of children. In K.N. Rao's book, "Planets in Children," he gives dozens of examples of child birth occuring under the influence of Jupiter and Saturn's transit on the 5th house or 5th lord.

Here's a short list of the effects for each house:

1st house - Body, one's identity, self-confidence, overall success.
2nd house - Earned income, acquisitions, food/diet, speech.
3rd house - Communication, advertising, hobbies, writing, siblings, short journeys, short-term goals.
4th house - Home/residence, real estate, mother, vehicles, general happiness.
5th house - Creativity, children, romance/dating, investments, education.
6th house - Health, disease, acute illness, daily work, litigation, debts.
7th house - Relationship, marriage, partnerships - business or romantic, foreign places.
8th house - Other's money - loans, inheritance; litigation, chronic illness, sexuality, transformation, occult knowledge.
9th house - Long distance travel, spiritual teaching and teachers, good fortune, father.
10th house - Career, employer, work/action, outer achievements.
11th house - Monetary gains, side incomes, major long-term goals, groups, friends.
12th house - Distant places, introspection, debts and expenditures, isolation.
