Hi JL,

I don't think giving a name as per the sound of the Janma Nakshatra does anything to the individual, for better or for worse. Then again which janma nk? Moon or lagna? In my experience I have not seen any improvement just because of a name. It totally depends on the chart and the Vimshottari dasha sequence.

Nowadays people do many funky things with numerology. But changing your name from Rajesh to Raajesh only improves the numerologist's pocket book, nothing more.

Dear Soulsearch,

No offense taken, I accept and always seek criticism. One thing I do know is I'm not ruthless and have been asked by many to be ruthless to survive in today's world! I'm born in Moola 3rd Pada. (July 11th 1984, 19:58, Mumbai) My name doesn't start with the nakshatra alphabet though (Bh), any idea on the conflicts it can cause?

Your Moon falls in the 3rd pada of Mula. This pada is ruled by Mercury and the navamsha falls in Gemini. Thankfully, it is the least troublesome pada in the Mula nakshatra. The motivation is relationships and intellectualism rather than power, position or money.

And no you are certainly not very ruthless as an exalted and retrograde Saturn aspects Moon and Jupiter. Also Ketu, the ruler of Mula is exalted in the Nk of Anuradha (Sat). This makes you quite bold and hardheaded. Thirdly, Jupiter is in Mula, but in the 4th pada. This is a bit of a troublesome area. Makes you confused about relationships and in the intellectual plane, about ideas and concepts. But it also makes you considerate and generous. My guess is that you are not precipitate or ill behaved like the other padas of Mula. You prefer to part company amicably rather than asking someone to take a hike.

Jupiter and Moon in the 12th H creates a curious kind of Jeeva Yoga. You are generous, charitable and I suspect you spend quite a bit in helping out your pet causes and people. But the problem is most of this money is wasted, ill spent or simply swindled by undeserving people. You might be a soft touch for a sob story. Its funny but I have actually completely changed my name, and now im planning to change it again.
My janma Nakshatra is Revati, and Names recommended start with De, Do, Cha, Chee and i couldnt find a nice name with it ..

But in your opinion name numerology works?

Hey JL,

Name numerology does not work. Just look at it, it only works with Roman alphabets. If the theory was universally applicable it would have worked with all alphabets. Can you do numerology with Chinese glyphs?

Stick with the name your parents gave you. In the Shastras the father and the mother are called Mahagurus. After your life, your name is their 2nd most important contribution to you. This is the problem with Mithun Lagna people, always doing funky stuff and the 'in thing'.

If you want to know I'll tell you how this akshara/alphabet stuff works. There are 3 imp factors, Vara (weekday), tithi (Lunar day) and akshara (alphabet). Vara and the weekday lord is connected with your physical well being, the lunar tithi is connected with your economic and general wellbeing and the akshara or the first alphabet of your name is connected with your image, reputation and mental well being (manaas).

If there is a vedha from a malefic on the vara (birthday) or the vara lord it denotes sickness and lack of physical felicity.

If there is a vedha from a malefic on your janma tithi it denotes loss, financial troubles and general troubles.

If there is vedha from a malefic on the first akshara of your name it denotes trouble with your public image, scandals, calumny and quarrels which disturb your mental peace.

If there is a benefic vedha the results are opposite.

Vedha means nakshatra aspects. To calculate vedha you have to use the Sarvatobhadra Chakra. It can be used to calculate the effects of transit or whole life. If you are using it for whole life then the mutual MD and AD of the planets involved will bring the trouble or the benefit.

You seem to thought of Uttara Phalguni as U.Phalguni symbolize bed or 2 rear legs of a cot, as it reflects healing others. since U.Phalguni diety is Aryaman ,reflects partnerships as per social norms(family-child),loving nature & responsibility...especially rules the (chayani shakti),i.e.power to give prosperity through marriage leads to kids(baby's bed ) .
