Post by Khoo Hock Leong » Thu Apr 16, 2009 12:17 pm

Hi

This is the chart of a famous Vedic Guru in Singapore, Sarajit Poddar.

Natal Chart
Date: August 25, 1974
Time: 14:32:44
Time Zone: 5:30:00 (East of GMT)
Longitude: 85 E 17' 00"
Latitude: 23 N 40' 00"

Just basing on the Rasi and Navamsa, we can see that he is extremely good in Vedic Astrology.

His articles are detailed and cutting edge.

Can you spot the salient points?

Thanks.

An Analysis on Sarajit's Aptitude for Astrology

Post by Khoo Hock Leong » Fri Apr 17, 2009 7:48 am

Hi

I would like to give you my analysis of his chart. By the way Sarajit is a full time Management Consultant at Deloitte Consulting in Singapore. He is an expert in SAP. (I think he specialises in Human Resource).

His Rasi positions are as follows :

Lagna Sagittarius
Sun Leo (9th)
Moon Scorpio (12th)
Mercury Leo (9th)
Venus Cncer (8th)
Mars Leo (9th)
Jupiter Aquarius (3rd)
Saturn Gemini (7th)
Rahu Scorpio (12th)
Ketu Taurus (6th)

His Navamsa positions are as follows :

Lagna Gemini
Sun Gemini (1st)
Moon Scorpio (6th)
Mercury Leo (3rd)
Venus Sagittarius (7th)
Mars Scorpio (6th)
Jupiter Aires (11th)
Saturn Aires (11th)
Rahu Capricorn (8th)
Ketu Cancer (2nd)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sarajit has a powerful Raja Yoga in the 9th House. Two trinal lords with a Kendra lord conjuncting together (Sun, Mercury and Mars). Hence Mercury's Kendrapati Doshi is annihilated. Jupiter another trinal lord (the ascendant lord) is in the 3rd mutually aspecting this set of planets as well. This shows that his intelligence (Paka Lagna in 3rd) is applied in things related to prophecy (9th house).

As we all know, 4th House and 8th house deals with astrology. The 7th and the 11th are the foundational pillars to the earlier two said houses. His double Uppachaya house ruler, Venus is in the 8th. This shows his love for astrology and his drive to become the top student from SJC. The dispositor is the Moon in the 12th conjncting Rahu in the 12th which is the foundational pillar for the 9th (more about this in the next paragraph). Also if you use the principle that I discuss in the previous post about how to overlay the Lagnamsa onto the Rasi and compare its position to that of Lagna to get the house in the Rasi where an individual would be brilliant and famous, it turns out to be the 8th house (refer to my post "OVERLAYING NAVAMSA ONTO RASI").

Hence you notice his foundational pair of houses for astrology has shifted from the 8th-11th pair to the 9th-12th pair. I would like to explain what this means in Vedic. Notice the 2nd pair is the 2nd house to the corresponding start-end points of the earlier pair. When this happens it means the affairs as denoted by the 1st pair of houses has taken a back seat and the person has concentrated his energy on the 2nd pair ie. THE RESOURCE PART FOR THE 1ST PAIR. This means the individual is not content to beautify or prop up his expertse in the areas ruled by the 1st pair. He is adventurous to secure more movable assets (KNOWLEDGE) to prop up his foundational 1st pair of houses by concentrating on the 2nd pair of houses. From this you can deduce that he is not afraid to venture into unchartered waters of astrology if need be. The 9th house is the house of Dharma ensures he has luck on his side. The 12th house having a foundatinal pillar for the 9th and sharing the same common ruler of Jupiter means he can draw out the same resources to work on his project (easier to synchrnise the actions of the 9th and 12th).

With Moon in the 12th ruling 8th, this means his fame to astrology would be in the future (coming soon). Conjuncting Rahu (another astrology planet besides Mercury and Jupiter) means his methods in astrological research combine the conventional resouces of the trinal lords with more in-depth research as signified by Rahu. The Moon sgnifying the mind shows how powerful his analysis can be.

Saturn ruling the 2nd and 3rd in the 7th and in turn disposited by Mercury, shows that Saturn would take care in the background whatever he read and learn ino venturing into a new research area of astrology. Basically Saturn serves as a mind strengthening function in his chart - it also shows why he is in the consulting line in the human resource field.

Let's look at his Navamsa.

His Sun and Mercury gets mutual reception between the Lagnamsa and the 3rd shows his exceptional intelligence. Saturn his trinal lord also aspects his Lagnamsa from the 11th. It rules the 8th and 9th (the astrological and prophecy house). Venus (another trinal lord) fully aspects the Lagnamsa from the 7th. So you can see all three trinal lords are involved in propping up his Lagnamsa.

His 11th house Raja Yoga and the 8th house Rahu further testifies to his prowess in Astrology.

Thanks.

Further Analysis

Post by Khoo Hock Leong » Fri Apr 17, 2009 11:30 am

Hi

There are two other points I want to add about judging his prowess in astrology :

(1) Jupiter ruling his 4th house of the esoteric aspects of astrology is found in his 3rd aspecting the 9th house set of planets. He is a person who has a broad vision of astrology but he does not place more emphasis of the esoteric aspects at the expense of the need for foundational and broad vision thinking. But he does have the esoteric aspects up his sleeve.

(2) The link between the normal foundational houses for astrology 8th-11th and the RESOURCE foundational houses for astrology 9th-12th is even tighter in the case of his chart.

Notice Venus rules 11th and found in 8th and Moon disposits 8th and found in 12th. The new pair of foundational houses 9th-12th has as its lynchpin the 12th house which incorporates fully the FULL FEATURES of the basic foundational houses of 8th-11th due to the Moon in the 12th.

This is what I call integrated thinking in astrology.

Can anyone beat that?

Anyway, I always consider the 9th house to have many areas ruled under its fold - not just prophetic abilities. His intelligence and wisdom he also applied it to his main occupation in consulting and management work.

Thanks.
