Dear 2002diksha,

3rd house has many significations - including siblings, courage, bravery, initiative, creativity and its also the seed of sexual desire and gratification.

On the same lines there are multiple variations of D3.
Parashari D3 is for siblings.
Jagannatha D3 is for karmas from previous birth. Used alongside D60.
Parivritti Traya D3 is for drive and initiative of the person
Somnatha D3 is for sexual drive, libido etc.,

Also from a Prashna perspective.
For a given question/problem for a client; Rasi chart is used for the basis of "Current" time;
Navamsa is used for the background of the problem - kind of the "Past" time
Drekkana is used for the future of the problem, solution for the problem - kind of the "Future" time.

Hope this helps
Shrikanth

Dear Diksha,

Drekkana or D3 chart is a magnified view of 3rd house of a horoscope. It is seen for mental inclinations, thought process, courage, siblings, communications, sports, ear, throat of the body, short travels etc.

Parasari Drekkana, is a standard one and nature of a person and his likings are seen here. The drekkana divisions are ruled by three sages, they are,,,

1, Narada -- 0-10 deg --- messenger of gods, great yogi, fond of travelling, bak biter and falls for base desires

2. Agastya -- 10-20 deg--- Noble soul, strong determination, can face all challenges in life, like to remain in one place

3. Durvasa -- 20-30 deg -- Hot tempered,egoistic, less patience and orthodox.

Any planet placed in movable sign belong to Narad, fixed to Agastya, common to Durvasa.

Further each drekkana is divided into 3 navamsas, they are Deva, Nara, Rakshasa.

Lagna, lagna lord and Moons position in D3 and their Navamsa guna has to be seen for characteristics. Lagna/lord for physical trend and Moon for mental disposition.

In addition to this, 22nd drekkkana and Ayudh, sarpa, pakshi divisions has to be seen for malefic results. For example 10th lord placed in Sarpa drekkana donot promise good results in profession, planets in pakshi drekkana dont give stable profession. saturn and 8th lord in Ayudh drekkana gives accidents etc..

To some astrologers, parasari drekkana indicates value of life and poorva punya and show the positive and negative outcomes.

Contn..

Second type is Varanasi Drekkana, which is seen for past karmas and fruits of karmas coming in future. Also the profession of a person can be seen in this chart from 10th of lagna and moon. This chart is calculated similiar to Navamsa. first part of movable goes to aries, then trines. 1st part of fixed goes to 9th from it and trines etc...

Third type is Somnath Drekkana, which is seen for desires and sexual inclinations. Venus and third house in this chart has to be seen. Malefic association to 3rd house gives courage and venus aspected by malefics is not preferable.

Other types like parivritti drekkana, Garga drekkana,Tajik drekkana are there, though I am not much familiar with that.

Key point in all the charts is dasa sequence. Dasha periods of planets when operate during right age give certain desires as per somnath d3 chart, certain profession, karmas with varanasi d3 chart.

Parasara d3 is for general overall view of life/nature, but Kharesh (22nd drekkana) periods depend on dasa again with transits.

Please experiment with this :) Good luck
